The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS)provides critical humanitarian, health, and social services to Palestinians, acting as the main emergency medical provider with ambulances, hospitals, and first aid, especially during conflict and crises in the Palestinian territories and diaspora.
The Voice of Hind Rajab is a critically acclaimed Tunisian film by Kaouther Ben Hania, depicting the real-life tragedy of five-year-old Hind Rajab in Gaza, blending actual audio recordings with scripted scenes to show the event that transpired when Red Crescent volunteers received an emergency call on January 29, 2024, revealing that this 5 year old girl was trapped in a car under IDF fire in Gaza, pleading for rescue. While trying to keep her on the line, they do everything they can to get an ambulance to her as PRCS workers are impeded by the Israel Defense Forces during the Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip.
The film stars Saja Kilani, Motaz Malhees, Amer Hlehel, and Clara Khoury.
The film has major festival accolades like the Venice Film Festival's Silver Lion and earning a Golden Globe nomination and a spot on the short/long list for Best Foreign Language Film for both BAFTA & The Academy Awards.
