Join us for our Labyrinth Soundscapes series, an immersive live music & labyrinth walk evening in celebration of spring and renewal.
About this Event

Join us for a very special candlelit edition of our Labyrinth Soundscapes series, an immersive evening of joyful live music featuring our multi-talented guest musician, Clare Morgan, accompanied by our resident musician Laura Kern. Experience a rich blend of harp, vocals and crystal bowls, designed to evoke the spirit of celebration and sense of spring renewal as you follow the winding path of the labyrinth.
This event offers a meditative space to connect with the sounds around us, fostering a sense of peace and connectedness as we welcome the new month ahead. Drop in for a bit and let the healing vibrations wash over you as you walk the labyrinth or bring your yoga mat and stay for the entire sound bath. The music will finish at 830pm to allow 30 minutes for silent walks.

Chairs are also provided for those who wish to enjoy the soundscape sitting. Doors close at 8:45. Suggested cash donation toward labyrinth upkeep is $15, if comfortably affordable, thank you.
Labyrinth walking is an ancient meditation practice used by many different cultures for spiritual centering, contemplation, and prayer. For many, it is a way of centering themselves or of seeking insight during times of transition in their lives. The labyrinth is not a maze. There are no tricks to it and no dead ends. Walk at your own pace, releasing that which no longer serves you as you walk toward the centre and receiving whatever it is you need as you follow the same path out. Our labyrinth is a full 13-metre replica of the medieval labyrinth laid in the stone floor of the 13th-century Cathédrale de Notre-Dame de Chartres in France.

Sound healing is another ancient practice for meditation and self-care that harnesses the power of sound vibrations to promote healing and restoration. Research shows us that sound healing can slow down our brain waves and put our bodies in a very relaxed, dreamlike state. The vibrations of sound baths are thought to help you connect with your subconscious mind, allowing inner exploration and self-discovery.

About our special guest musician, Clare Morgan:

A Celtic harpist and composer since 2002, Clare (they/them) received a BFA in Creative Writing from the University of Victoria in 2007 and went on to complete an MDiv from the Vancouver School of Theology in 2014. Clare is also affiliated with the Inayati Sufi community in Vancouver and the wider Pacific Northwest, and has been sharing music among them in sama and zhikr also since 2017. As well as the Celtic harp, Clare also plays the mandolin, ukulele, and Appalachian dulcimer, and is currently studying the Persian tar with local teacher Pouya Motamedi. Some of Clare’s writings, sermons, and music may be found at http://claritysabbath.substack.com/

About our resident musician:

Laura Kern is a Vancouver-based sound healing practitioner and guided meditation leader. She first discovered meditation and mindfulness as powerful tools to regulate pain and support recovery after a serious injury, and that journey sparked a lifelong commitment to sharing their benefits with others. Today, Laura offers sound baths and meditation sessions for groups and individuals, creating spaces of calm, connection, and renewal. She can be found on Instagram @ laura_at_the_labyrinth.
