**Devising jam for female and non binary creatives**
Emerging creatives ourselves we feel a need for a space in which we can just.. play, experiment, explore. It's the core creative urge, most organic way to take risks and to find future collaborations.
By creating, all pressure removed.
We would like to invite you for a 3h theatre jam. Navigating a bunch of prompts in a workshop environment you will have a chance to make some theatre with a bunch of strangers. We encourage you to come in with 2 out of 3 of the following:
- A striking or bizzaire object.
- A short piece of text.
- An exercise (3-5min in lenght) that you enjoy.
Who is this for?
We would like to dedicate this jam particularly to female and non-binary creatives. We will be focusing the session on the exploration of the female & queer identities.
We welcome theatre creatives at all experience levels.
We striving to create a multidisciplinary space - so whatever your role is, you're welcomed!
What will actually happen?
1) First of all we will run an introduction, meet and greet & a warm-up. The warm up will be co-lead with the participants.
2) We will separete into 2 groups jamming off one another. Through use of the brought in objects, fragments of text and a loop station we will explore female and queer narratives hidden within the day-to-day, the unspoken and the normal.
3) A short break.
4) Polishing and structuring of the devised material. With an optional performance.
5) A quick forum starting a conversation about devising, working as an emerging theatre maker in our times and an exploration of female and queer identities on stage.

All participants are welcome to hang around after with some complementary soft drinks and beers provided.
Other bits and bobs:
- This will be our very first jam session! We're taking this on very much as an experiement in what would be the best way to facilitate a space which combines playful creativity and networking for emerging creatives. We're inviting you on board - please share any thoughts with us at any point.
- We want to create a space for practice exchange - so we will be active participants rather than only facilitators. We encourage you to freeform with us, bring your own experience and interests to the table and to co-create.
- We are operating on a financially accessible structure - tickets offered on Eventbrite have different tiers. There are also some fully subsidised tickets available - if you're in need of one please drop a quick e-mail to [email protected] and we'll make sure to get you in.
- This is a small capacity event so make sure to get your tickets in quick.
- Please aim to come in 10min early.
- Give us a heads up if you have any access needs or will need to arrive / leave outside of the scheduled times, we will do our best to accomodate you.
