The community is joyously invited to celebrate this historic journey with Anthony Michael Cohen and the #FreedomWalk2026 Team on Sunday, May 31, from 12 to 3pm at the Family Partnership Center, 29 North Hamilton Street, Poughkeepie, NY.This event, with an opening reception/open house with refreshments from 12 to 1, and a program following the reception, will honor the courage, hope, faith and unity that shaped this pivotal chapter in American history with blessing, music, reflections, remarks from Mayor Yvonne Flowers and Tony Cohen himself.
#FreedomWalk2026 is a modern-day retracing of the Underground Railroad on the 30th anniversary of Tony Cohen’s 1996 walk and to commemorate the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding. Poughkeepsie was chosen as one of only ten cities on the 750-mile journey that Tony and his team will use as their base of operations.
