FREE Parent Education Night: Talking to Kids About Drugs & Alcohol

Philly SkatePlex, in partnership with Caron Treatment Centers’ Education Alliance, invites parents, grandparents, and caregivers to a powerful FREE educational presentation designed to help families protect their children from drugs, alcohol, vaping, and other substances.

While you attend the presentation, your children can enjoy FREE skating in a supervised environment — making this an evening of education for parents and fun for kids.

Parents play a critical role in preventing youth substance use. This informative session provides practical tools, current information, and guidance to help you start meaningful conversations and support your child’s well-being.

• Why young brains are especially vulnerable to substances
• Current drug trends and what common substances look like
• How early, open conversations make a difference
• Protective factors that strengthen families
• Where to find prevention resources and support

Children attending with a registered parent may skate for FREE during the event.

• Supervised skating session included
• Skate rental available for $6 per child (if needed)
• Parent/guardian must remain on-site and attend the presentation

This presentation is led by Helene Polin of Caron Treatment Centers, a nationally recognized organization specializing in addiction treatment, prevention, and family education.

• This event is FREE but registration is required
• Space is limited
• Each parent must reserve a ticket
