Birth Preparation for Kings in the Labor Room

Virtual class.

Virtual - 6/11/2026 6pm-8:30pm (registered participants will get a virtual link a week prior to class date.)

On-site- 6/20/2026 10am-12pm

This course is designed to empower fathers with the knowledge and confidence to support their partner and baby during pregnancy, labor, and the early postpartum period.

Participants will explore:

How to speak up and contact a midwife or OB/GYN right away for urgent reasons.

Who Supports You? Choosing the right Support Person for the Father
Showing Up! Supporting Mom and Baby in the Hospital
What Dads Should Do Before Mom and Baby Go Home.
What Men Should Expect in the First Month After Birth (Mother & Baby)
How Men Can Prepare Financially for a New Baby (On a Low Income)
Guest dads speakers will share real-life experiences and insight

Each participant will receive a curated list of resources.

Instructor Bio:

Kayann Stephens, from Childbirth Now is a licensed registered nurse, who has worked with the top OB and midwife practices throughout the tri-state. She brings her expertise in pregnancy and childbirth to the Family Wellness Suite at the Harlem Neighborhood Health Action Center.
