About this Event
MatraSpeak Mother's Day Event
Join us for the MatraSpeak Mother's Day Event celebrating and raising awarness around motherhood, identity shifts, invisable labor and more! MatraSpeak is a 60-minute verbatim play built from the real words of working mothers in the NY area.
Performed by award-winning Broadway actors and theatre makers, MatraSpeak is a verbatim play that illuminates the intersection of ambition and motherhood, sparking meaningful dialogue about success, identity, and inclusion in the workplace. The play is completely transcribed verbatim (word for word, utterance for utterance) from interviews with 40 working mothers in the NY area, and backed with years of research, 150 survey responses, and 4 focus groups. You can read more about the play here,
The event will begin at 5pm with some wine and light bites, followed by a live performance of the play at 5:30pm. We will stay together for a short community conversation after the play to share stories and celebrate motherhood. Come join us for the play that brings the 'mom group chat' to life on stage!
