This 90-minute documentary tells the inspiring story of the fight to preserve the iconic Milestone Club—dubbed the "CBGB of the South"—where legendary bands like Nirvana, R.E.M., and the Violent Femmes made history over the past 50 years.
Following the screening, stay for a lively panel discussion with the filmmakers and local independent venue owners as they explore how we can support Charlotte’s vibrant music scene and ensure its future.
About the Film:
This punk rock Cinderella story dives into the challenges facing historic venues like the Milestone Club as gentrification and rising costs threaten their survival. With interviews from Milestone alumni and music legends, the film highlights the cultural importance of these spaces and the urgent need to save them.
