Spotkanie z Françoise Vergès – pisarką, teoretyczką polityki i kuratorką, której prace skupiają się na spuściźnie niewolnictwa i kolonializmu, feminizmie dekolonialnym, muzeach oraz kryzysie klimatycznym. Autorka książek „A Programme of Absolute Disorder. Decolonizing the Museum” (2021) oraz „Feminizm dekolonialny” (2024) w rozmowie podejmie temat współczesnych wyzwań wynikających z kolonialnej przeszłości Europy i świata.
Wydarzenie będzie prowadzone w j. angielskim.

⚫️ AUTORKA:
Françoise Vergès jest politolożką, feministką antyrasistowską, kuratorką i reżyserką. Jej praca łączy teorię postkolonialną, feminizm dekolonialny i praktyki artystyczne. W ramach Stypendium Bannister Fletcher 2025 organizuje warsztaty pod hasłem „Wyobrażając sobie post-muzeum” w Londynie (w Whitechapel Gallery, Mosaic Room i Sarah Parker Remond Center for the Study of Racism and Racialization na UCL) oraz w Paryżu (w Cité internationale des arts i ULIP). Współkuratorka i współautorka pierwszej edycji wydarzenia La Ville dansée w Paryżu w 2024 roku. Obecnie pracuje nad filmem o walkach społecznych na Reunion oraz nad archiwum osobistym swoich rodziców.
⚫️ PROWADZENIE:
Magdalena Wróblewska jest historyczką sztuki i muzeolożką, zajmującą się problematyką dekolonialności. Dyrektorka Państwowego Muzeum Etnograficznego w Warszawie. Adiunktka na Wydziale Artes Liberales Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego. Stypendium typu post-doc odbyła w Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz- Max-Planck-Institut i Staatliche Museen zu Berlin. Wraz z C. Ariese opublikowała książkę „Practicing Decoloniality in Museums: A Guide with Global Examples”. Publikuje artykuły i książki na temat fotografii. W 2023 roku odbyła staż badawczy w Department for Anthropology, Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution w Waszyngtonie.

A meeting with Françoise Vergès – writer, political theorist, and curator whose work focuses on the legacy of slavery and colonialism, decolonial feminism, museums, and the climate crisis. The author of “A Programme of Absolute Disorder. Decolonizing the Museum” (2021) and “Decolonial Feminism” (2024) will discuss contemporary challenges arising from Europe’s and the world’s colonial past.
The event will be conducted in English.

⚫️ THE AUTHOR:
Françoise Vergès is a political scientist, anti-racist feminist, curator, and filmmaker. Her work combines postcolonial theory, decolonial feminism, and artistic practices. For the 2025 Bannister Fletcher Fellowship, she is organizing workshops on “Imagining the Post-Museum,” with in London, the Whitechapel Gallery, Mosaic Room and the Sarah Parker Remond Center for the Study of Racism and Racialization at UCL, and in Paris, Cité internationale des arts and ULIP. She was the co-curator and co-author of the first edition of La Ville dansée in Paris in 2024. She is currently working on a film about social struggles in Réunion and on her parents’ personal archive.
⚫️ HOST:
Magdalena Wróblewska is an art historian and museologist specializing in decolonial issues. She is the Director of the State Ethnographic Museum in Warsaw and an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of “Artes Liberales” at the University of Warsaw. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz – Max Planck Institute and the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin. Together with C. Ariese, she co-authored the book Practicing Decoloniality in Museums: A Guide with Global Examples. She publishes articles and books on photography. In 2023, she completed a research fellowship at the Department of Anthropology, National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.
