About this Event
Experience the world through music at UCLA’s Spring Festival of World Music, presented in partnership with the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music. Concerts will take place at Schoenberg Hall and the Fowler Museum Amphitheater.
Join us for a spring evening under the stars with Music and Dance of Ghana Ensemble, a student ensemble that brings the vibrant musical traditions of southern Ghana to life through rhythmic drum patterns, bells, rattles, song, and dance rooted in the Akan, Ga, Ewe, and Akuapem cultures. These dynamic performances showcase complex polyphonic textures and social dances that connect UCLA audiences with West African heritage and global musical practices.
This concert takes place in the museum’s outdoor amphitheater (unless otherwise noted). Seating is on the grass, and we encourage you to bring whatever will make you comfortable, such as a chair, mat, blanket, or cushion. Enjoy the music under the sky with friends and community.
Fowler Out Loud is an evening concert series that invites UCLA students from various disciplines to perform at the museum.
