About this Event
Foundation Industries Ventures (FIVe), the UK's first incubator and accelerator for the Foundation Industries (that's cement, metals, chemicals, ceramics and glass) in partnership with Sensicon Ventures, an award-winning venture partner for start-ups and VCs, cordially invites you to a workshop and fireside chat followed by networking drinks with investors and corporate partners.
The vital Foundation industries contribute over £67bn to the UK economy and employ over 250k people but in producing the 28m tonnes of products each year, generate 10% of the UK’s annual CO2 emissions.
For these hard-to-decarbonise industries radical change means achieving net zero whilst continuing to manufacture the vital materials we all need every day – that’s why they need innovation.
This unique event will see pioneering spinouts Cambridge Electric Cement and Biozeroc talk about their early-stage journeys, the barriers they faced to innovation and how they secured millions of pounds of seed funding within two years. Followed by a fireside chat with them and Innovate UK, Sensicon and FIVe before investors keen to work within the industries join for drinks.
Whether you’re looking to connect with other innovators across the sectors, secure funding, join interactive discussions, learn from others or share your success stories or challenges this event is about building an inclusive, supportive community. We hope you can join us…
