About this Event
presents: Year of the Fire Horse x Ramadan
A fire can spark when we gather fiercely, lighting up the faces of loved ones. A fire fed by our connections, our insistence on freedom, our resolve. Welcome to FORTUNE’s 7th annual Lunar New Year party — this year, falling during the holy month of Ramadan. Come by, break your fast among queer kin, and warm yourselves with us for awhile.

COVID Safety (please read):
This is a COVID-cautious event that requires all attendees to wear KN95 or higher quality masks, except when actively eating, drinking, or performing onstage. COVID testing on the day of the event is strongly encouraged, even if you are not experiencing COVID-related symptoms. KN95 masks and rapid COVID tests will be provided at the door, and we ask that you please refrain from joining the event if you are feeling sick or are symptomatic. Icebox Project Space’s HVAC system incorporates HEPA filtration, and additional air purifiers will be staggered throughout the space.
Honoring these COVID precautions will make it possible for more members of our community to celebrate with us at a time when COVID and flu rates are at their highest. We will have COVID-safer quiet hours in the main event space from 4–5:45PM, where attendees will agree to not eat or drink or otherwise remove their masks.

Accessibility:
Icebox Project Space, located on the ground floor of the Crane Arts Building, is wheelchair accessible. There is limited accessible parking at the front of the building, and a ramp leading into the main entrance. The building door is not automated, and guests can signal lobby staff, for assistance entering the building. Once inside Crane Arts there are no steps leading into the venue, which is located at the end of the hallway on the right side of the main entrance area. Two all-gender bathrooms with multiple stalls are available for use — one with urinals, one without, and both with 1–2 wheelchair accessible stall(s).
Icebox Project Space is a large room with concrete flooring, and attendees can anticipate high noise-levels, dim lighting, colorful and moving non-flashing lights during performances, and a large volume of people in the space. Signage will guide attendees through the event venue, which will include a check-in area, a stage, a dance floor, and designated areas for food, vendors, the raffle, a resource table, and an altar. A limited number of folding chairs and tables will be provided for attendees throughout the space. There will be a small area at the entrance to the venue to place coats, and attendees are encouraged to keep personal belongings with them throughout the course of the event.
There is a smaller room located at the back of the venue which will serve as a combined spa section and a quieter space. We ask that attendees respect this lower-stimulation room designated for spa guests, and anyone taking a break from the main event.
This is not a fragrance-free event. There will be natural and chemical scents used in the spa & workshop section, as well as from burning incense at the altar.
There will not be ASL interpretation or CART available for this event, and all event materials and announcements will be in English.
An access coordinator will be available to support attendees throughout the course of the evening. If you have questions about how and whether we can accommodate your needs, we invite you to email us at [email protected] prior to the day of the event. We welcome all feedback and hope to make this event as comfortable and accessible as possible!

Food & Drink:
