🎶 What happens when we stop repeating patterns and truly start to listen?
In this workshop, we will dive into the structures of Forró Roots to understand how the music dictates the movement. The goal is to develop sensitivity and active listening, allowing you to dance in relation to what is playing.
We will prioritize organic connection and improvisation over fixed choreography, exploring traditional Roots steps and learning how to use those structures to respond to the music in real time. 💃🕺
👩‍🏫 The workshop will be led by Emilia Fullone, a dancer with 12 years of experience in the Forró scene and annual training in Brazil. She is a graduate of the National University of the Arts (UNA) as a professional Tango dancer, where she has also taught.
Her pedagogical approach is unique, merging professional dance technique with her experience as an active musician leading her own forró band. ✨🎼
