Forró is taking over Europe! This energetic music and dance style from Northeast Brazil, which became immensely popular in the early 20th century, is now winning hearts across the continent.
This trio consists of three talented musicians – true world women – who are currently based in Rotterdam.
Gabriela, the singer, comes from a highly musical family. With her latest album Brasileira, she showcases the deep roots of Brazilian music. Both the press and audiences agree: she has uniquely embraced Brazilian culture and music.
Elizabeth Fadel is a versatile Brazilian multi-instrumentalist. In addition to being a virtuoso pianist, she also plays the accordion. Her passion for music from Northeast Brazil led her to start a new project in the Netherlands: an authentic trio forró pé-de-serra, featuring accordion, zabumba, and triangle.
Henrike, the percussionist of the trio, has already made a name for herself in the music world. With her incredible energy and rhythmic power, she provides a strong foundation for this vibrant trio.
Trio Forró das Flores has already made its mark at various festivals across Europe and has become an essential part of the Dutch forró scene.
An evening with this trio promises a celebration filled with forró, coco, xaxado, baião, xote, and arrasta-pé. They perform original songs, traditional music, and even add a Brazilian twist to some international hits.
