A unique journey, where jazz harmonies intertwine with motifs of Lithuanian and other nations’ folk songs, subtly revealing the depth and variety of melodies, which brings the listener closer to the colourful world of ethnic music.
Arrangements of Lithuanian folk songs gradually grew, evolved, and gained new colours. This time, performers invite you to discover not only Lithuanian folk melodies but also the sounds of folk music from other nations in the FolkTales program. Alongside familiar melodies, you will hear arrangements of Ukrainian, Belarusian, Danish folk songs. Jazz harmonies here intertwine with folk melodies, revealing their depth and bringing the listener closer to the colourful world of ethnic music. Joining Andrej and Girmantė on the FolkTales musical journey are exceptional musicians: double bassist Denis Murašov, drummer Augustas Baronas, and trumpet and flugelhorn virtuoso Mindaugas Vadoklis. These performers have been shining brightly in the Lithuanian jazz music scene for many years, and are known for their professionalism, exceptional musical sense, precision, and creativity. Andrej Polevikov is undoubtedly a leader in today’s Lithuanian jazz world, a bold experimenter, arranger, and composer who has brought together a team of energetic and talented musicians. Girmantė is a renowned vocalist, possessing an incredible voice that shines brightly in the Lithuanian jazz and popular music scene. Her charisma, musicality, flexible and melodious improvisations captivate audiences.

Romanian-born pianist Adi Stoenescu, now based in Berlin, brings to the stage a rich, personal vision of contemporary jazz—one that blends modern harmonies, infectious grooves, and a deep sense of melodic storytelling. With a career spanning acclaimed collaborations and original projects, Adi has performed at the most important jazz festivals in Romania and Moldova, from Bucharest Jazz Festival to Gărâna, Jazz TM, and Jazz in the Park. His discography includes Waking Light (2021) and Surfacing (2022), both praised for their balance of intricate compositions and spontaneous interplay. Beyond the stage, he leads his Berlin-based band Krisper, continually exploring the evolving language of jazz.
Omri Abramov (saxophon) – A vivid voice on saxophone. Leader of Hovercraft and co-leader of Big Berry, he performed alongside Kurt Rosenwinkel and Shai Maestro.
Giacomo Tagliavia (double bass) – The Sicilian bassist and composer fuses jazz elegance with a classical sensibility.
Bastian Menz (drums) – combines refined technical skill with a composer’s ear.

12th EUNIC My Unique Jazz Festival vom 30. September bis 5. Oktober 2025 in der Kunstfabrik Schlot
Zum zwölften Mal wird mit einem eigenen Berliner Festival der Reichtum des europäischen Jazz mit seinen unterschiedlichen Wurzeln, Dialekten und neuen Entwicklungen vorgestellt. Neben den 31 wunderbaren Musikerinnen und Musikern aus 13 europäischen Ländern veranstalten in diesem Jahr 11 europäische Kulturinstitute und Botschaften der Gemeinschaft der europäischen Kulturinstitute EUNIC Berlin das Festival. Jede einzelne Band präsentiert dabei eigene Kompositionen und interpretiert bekannte Stücke aus ihrem jeweiligen Land neu oder in freier Improvisation. Darüber hinaus werden die Künstlerinnen und Künstler ihre musikalische Herkunft aber auch auf neue Art miteinander verbinden, wenn jeden Abend Musiker verschiedener Kulturen direkt aufeinandertreffen.
