About this Event
From flying boats and wartime pilots to commuter flights skimming the Toronto waterfront, Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport has spent more than 85 years connecting the city to the world. This waterfront walk traces the airport’s remarkable evolution through stories of aviation pioneers, Norwegian airmen, island amusement parks, and the communities shaped by the harbour’s constant movement and change. Discover how this small island airport became a gateway for millions—and how global events, innovation, and local debates transformed Toronto’s shoreline along the way.
