Miguel Misa, a student of Teaching Professor Michael Klotz, claimed first place with his outstanding performance of the first movement of Walton's Viola Concerto, while Catherin Meza, a graduate student of Associate Professor Robert Dundas, earned second place for her exquisite rendition of Dvořák's "Song to the Moon" from Rusalka.
The concert opens with the sparkling "Overture in D Major" by Haydn, a piece brimming with elegance and vivacity that sets the stage for an evening of exceptional performances. Next, revel in the enchanting sounds of Prokofiev's "Classical Symphony," a delightful blend of traditional form and modern harmonic innovation that charms and excites in equal measure.
