About this Event
Thinking about what being a homeowner might look like for you, but don't know where to start?
Come join us as we unpack the complexities of home buying and answer questions most first time home buyers don't even know how to ask.
This workshop will provide you with helpful tools, education and insight into buying a home in the competitive Bay Area housing market. We believe housing should be more accessible, yet the system wasn't designed with everyone in mind. Our goal is to help you understand what accessibility can look like for you.
We will be covering:
- Various lender programs, including options specifically designed for first-time homebuyers
- How to prepare financially if you're self-employed or a 1099 independent contractor
- The difference between renting vs owning
- Some of the often overlooked or "hidden" costs that come with purchasing a home
- What to look for when building your dream team
- Resources and contribution-based initiatives that directly support local, Indigenous communities
Thinking about one of the biggest financial decisions in your life can feel overwhelming, and that is completely normal. Our goal is for you to walk away from this event feeling more prepared, confident and empowered to take the next steps towards your goals.
Each attendee will also receive a complementary drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) included.
We're excited to have you there!
