Finding Flow Weekend Workshop - AMSTERDAM - 01.\/02.10.22 (WAITING LIST) Finding Flow goes into the next round with new material and content. In the upcoming Fall workshop tour this is awaiting you:
Finding Flow is a dynamic concept that has grown out of Nil's personal interest in ease and self- exploration through movement and many years of studying/practicing different forms of movement.
During the workshop you will gain access to different aspects of his practice and gain exciting perspectives that can be transformative in relation to movement/exercise/training.
Elements and methods from acrobatics, locomotion, floorwork, dance, partner work, physical conditioning, falling practice and other areas that influence and inspire Nil's practice will be introduced and interwoven. You will gain tools to make your movement practice more dynamic, intuitive and playful and learn to move your body organically, effortlessly and consciously.
"Flow is being completely involved in an activity for its own sake. The ego falls away. Time flies. Every action, movement, and thought follows inevitably from the previous one, like playing jazz." - Mihály Csíkszentmihály

This workshop is not only for newcomers, motivated beginners but also experienced movers (dancers, martial arts, freestyle movers, acrobats). You don't need any special acrobatic or dance skills, you don't have to be particularly agile or overly strong. However, you should have an active movement practice - no matter what style. Have in mind that we will be moving all weekend long.
The workshop consists of three pillars:
Know Thy Body:

Awareness, Strengthening and Mobilizing Joints and structures, Spinal Suppleness, Tension Reduction and Breathwork, What can a movement practice look like that keeps modern people healthy and inspired? "Know Thy Body" aims to empower the practitioner to create such a practice that satisfies the need for movement and provides space for self-exploration. Routines are introduced which can be practiced and explored on an ongoing basis.
In addition, this part prepares the body and mind for the practice that follows.
Intuitive Body:
Chaos and play, fall school and conditioning the body, training responsiveness and solving movement challenges. How can one prepare for the unknown? How can quick reactions be trained and what do appropriate reactions look like? How can we teach our bodies and ourselves to act intuitively again? How can we learn to face and confront fear in a playful way?
In this part we challenge creativity and problem-solving skills through solo and partner work. In particular, we focus on fall school: through rolling and catching techniques we learn to see the ground and the fall as our friend and can face the fear of falling calmly. The work here is strongly inspired by Nil's many years of skateboarding and acrobatic experience.
Diving Into The Floor:
Movements that allow the body to transition effortlessly to the floor and back to standing, elements from acrobatics, dance and improvisation. Rolling, supporting, upside down, jumping, slow, fast, soft and gentle, explosive and wild. What beneficial effects does moving close to the floor have on the body? How can one's own creativity and imagination be stimulated by the practice?

Nil follows an approach that aims to find effortlessness, lightness, precision and calmness in movement. It is less about learning particularly difficult elements and more about finding pure joy in expressive movement and flow.
Finding Flow will give practitioners a multifaceted insight into Nils movement style, learning strategies, dealing with frustration, partner work and creative work with their own bodies. Didactic and methodical means are chosen that give the practitioners space for individual experimentation on the one hand and following technical instructions on the other.
In addition, the practitioners are confronted with topics such as risk and fear management, whereby individual limits are always considered and respected. Everyone decides how far to go.
After the seminar, all participants will receive a summary document with videos, texts and other resources that were covered during the weekend. It is expected that the resources will be treated with respect.
In addition, there is the possibility to purchase the bundle of workshop and Nil's Finding Flow "Basics" and "Integrations" Online Courses (optionally also "Acro Continuation" and "Refinement" - advanced!) as a pre- and post-workshop preparation. The courses include high quality and detailed videos, reflections, a dynamic exercise structure and much more exciting content. The cost is workshop price +200€ (instead of 300€).

Nil has been involved in various physical disciplines since childhood and shares his experiences and ideas for a holistic, long-lasting, fulfilling and joyful movement practice since over 10 years in his work.
His interest in working with the body and mind began at an early age. After studying sports science in Munich, training as a massage therapist and attending many seminars on a wide variety of topics, he began his professional work as a teacher. Nil sees continuous training, open- mindedness and a constant curiosity about life as the cornerstones of his work.
His teaching is informed by his interest in and practice of many systems and disciplines, including dance, rehabilitation & health training, parkour, acrobatics/artistry, bouldering/climbing, weight training, gymnastics, combat, yoga, meditation, bodywork, didactics, pedagogy, etc. The way of working is and remains dynamic: new experiences are integrated into the work, superfluous things are discarded.
The teaching goes beyond the physical: aspects such as learning experiences and processes, exploration of the self, trust in one's own body or fear management are an integral part of the approach.
