The feature is "A sweeping new four-part documentary series, From That Small Island, brings to life the extraordinary story of the Irish people, from the island's very first inhabitants to the global diaspora that now numbers over 80 million people. [...] Narrated by Colin Farrell and created by writer and filmmaker Bríona NicDhiarmada, From That Small Island is produced by the award-winning team behind 1916: The Irish Rebellion. Through rich storytelling, immersive visuals, and the latest scientific discoveries, the series paints an epic portrait of a people whose impact reaches far beyond these island shores. The series also features an original score from Irish composer Colm Mac Con Iomaire. Shot on location in 17 countries worldwide, all across the island of Ireland and from Barbados to Belgium, Singapore to Switzerland, UAE to the United States, the series provides a compelling narrative of Ireland and the Irish."

WRITER, PRODUCER Bríona Nic Dhiarmada is a writer, academic and filmmaker. Nic Dhiarmada was educated in Trinity College, Dublin and UCD and is a native of Wexford. She has written numerous screenplays and has produced, written and directed award winning documentaries including the multi-award-winning documentary series 1916 narrated by Liam Neeson and screened worldwide including broadcasts on RTÉ, PBS and BBC. Among the awards were the American Public Television Award for Excellence and the Best Documentary Series, Irish Film and Television Academy Awards 2016. Her book 1916: The Irish Rebellion won the Forward Prize for History. She is the writer and producer of the 4-part series and documentary feature film entitled From That Small Island - The story of the Irish (2025) narrated by Colin Farrell.

DIRECTORS Rachael Moriarty and Peter Murphy have co-written and directed five shorts and two feature films. Their first feature, Traders, starring Killian Scott and Barry Keoghan had a theatrical release in Ireland and won many awards including Best Feature, Belfast International Film Festival and 7th Orbit Award, Brussels Fantastic Film Festival. Róise & Frank was their second feature, starring Bríd Ní Neachtain. It was released in Irish cinemas in Sept 2022, and had a US theatrical release in April 2023 through Juno Films. The film won many awards including the Santa Barbara Film Festival Audience Award, Sonoma International Film Festival Audience Award, Dublin International Film Festival Best Ensemble Award, Stockholm City Film Festival, Best Feature Film, Best Director and Best Actress, Paris Women Festival Best Female Feature Film Writer, Cambria Film Festival Audience Award. The film was nominated for 6 IFTAs in 2023, including Best Film, Best Director and Best Screenplay. Bríd Ní Neachtain won Best Actress in the lead role of Róise. From That Small Island is their latest feature.
