Film Screening: From That Small Island
The Consulate General of Ireland, Chicago and the Chicago Irish Film Festival cordially invite you to a screening of From That Small Island –The Story of the Irish on Tuesday, November 4, presented in partnership with the Nicholson Center for British Studies and the Film Studies Center at the University of Chicago.
From That Small Island is a new and ground-breaking feature documentary which tells the story of the Irish from our first inhabitants to the present day, tracing the ebb and flow of people into and out of the island. Shot on location in 17 countries worldwide, the film provides a compelling narrative of Ireland and the Irish.
Directed by Rachel Moriarty and Peter Murphy, the documentary is narrated by Colin Farrell and the original score is by Colm Mac Con Iomaire. The documentary’s writer and producer Bríona Nic Dhiarmada and historical consultant and associate producer Professor Jane Ohlmeyer will be present for a moderated discussion following the screening.
This screening will take place in the Logan Center for the Arts Screening Room (201) at 7:30pm on Tuesday, November 4.
