Join the Mayor’s Office of Community Affairs, Office of Supervisor Mahmood, City Departments, and community leaders for a workshop on Economic & Workforce Development in the neighborhood. Your input will inform the priorities, strategies, and actions that will be developed into the Fillmore Community Action Plan.

What is the Fillmore Community Action Plan (FCAP)?
The Fillmore Community Action Plan is a partnership between the City and community members to create lasting, community-driven change.
The Fillmore / Western Addition is the heart of San Francisco’s Black cultural life. For generations, it has been home to vibrant Black, Japanese, and Jewish communities — a rich blend reflected in its music, businesses, festivals, and landmarks. However, Urban Renewal and Redevelopment in the mid-20th century displaced Black residents, disrupting community ties and leaving lasting impacts that are still felt today.
Through engagement, collaboration and consensus the plan will build a roadmap for meaningful short and long-term investments — one that honors the Fillmore’s history and uplifts its future.
Goals:
- Protect and celebrate Black cultural heritage by uplifting the Fillmore/Western Addition’s legacy
- Advance healing and reconciliation through community-led reflection, collaboration, and capacity-building
- Build trust and lasting partnerships between community members, City departments, and local institutions
- Develop an Action Plan that serves as a framework for the neighborhood and guides future City and community investments
