Anita la Maltesa and Ramon Ruiz met in London where they joined forces creating Fiesta Flamenca. A wonderful display of flamenco dance, song, castanets, footwork, percussion and guitar. This spellbinding show, after many years, still captivates the audience from across the world.
Anita and Ramon take great pleasure in introducing to their ensemble two very talented guest artists direct from Spain.
Marcos Morales born in Cordoba, renowned for his choreographies and working under the direction of Maria Pages (famously know for having performed and choreographed River Dance with Michael Flatley), performances all over Spain in many prestigious tablaos together with top end flamenco dancers and musicians! Presently recides in Madrid where he teaches master classes and performs worldwide.
Natalia Marin born in Seville, is a top flamenco singer and is performing with top flamenco artists all over the world. She has shared stages with famous flamenco figures namely, Jose de la Tomasa, Jesus Heredia, Juan Jose Amador, the renowned family Los Fernandez amongst others. She has performed in worldwide famous theatre productions,"Bodas de Sangre" famously known and written by Federico Garcia Lorca. It was beautifully performed by Antonio Gadez and Cristina Hoyos. Natalia’s talents have taken her to international fame including Japan, New York, Singapore, Bangkok, Sau Paulo (Brazil) and many theatres in her homeland El Calderon theater in Madrid, Imperial in Seville and all over Andalucia. Today she still performs to her world audiences.
Ramon Ruiz born in Granada, is one of the UK's leading flamenco guitarists. He performed for five years at Los Gallos Tablao, considered in the 90's as the most authentic flamenco club in Seville. He performed alonside renowned flamenco guitarists, singers and dancers including Rafael Rodriguez, Israel Glavan, Isabel Bayon, Juana Amaya, Ricardo Miño, Pepa Montes, El Mimbre and Segundo Falcon of whom are regular performers at the Sadler's Wells Flamenco Festival. Since moving to London, Ramon has recorded four albums, performed for the BBC radio 3 and top end West End venues including the Royal Albert Hall. Currently, Ramon is arranging music for BBC radio 4, music libraries and collaborations with other artistic projects.
Sebastian Ruiz born in London in 2001, is the son of Anita and Ramon and has been performing together with his parents for three years now. He specialises in playing the percussion and cajon. He has just graduated in Sound Engineering with a Bachelor of Science degree. He has recently performed fusing his percussive talents with a group from India and Spain. Currently, Sebastian is performing with his father on tours around the UK and will be performing at the Jazz Cafe with a flamenco troupe from Spain in the new year.
Anita la Maltesa, whose sensual voice and breathtaking footwork together with her fellow artists and Ramon’s inspirational guitar playing, evokes the true spirit ‘El Duende’ of Flamenco dance and music.
Their combined talent is woven together creating a dazzling display of virtuosity and emotions that spark the imagination of their audience transporting them to the heart of Andalucia. The result is an intense and passionate combination creating a spectacle of virtuoso performances and euphoria that can only be described as “breathtakingly beautiful.”
