FAQ
What is retrofit?
Retrofit is the process of making changes to an existing building to make it more energy efficient. This can be changing all your light bulbs to LEDs, draughtproofing, installing insulation or ventilation, upgrading your heating systems, or generating your own energy.
Why retrofit?
We live and work in some of the leakiest and wasteful housing stock in Europe. In SE London, our buildings account for approximately 50% of our carbon emissions. Nationally, our housing is responsible for £1.4bn spent by the NHS. Our homes and community buildings are the sites where we can affect a considerable change for good; they CAN be healthy to live in, light on our wallets and good for the planet.
