A special opportunity to work directly with two leading practitioners of Theatre of the Oppressed: Bárbara Santos and Mariana Villani.
About this Event

This workshop explores a theatrical methodology developed through practical applications since 2010 with theater groups and artist-activists from Latin America, Europe and Africa.

It focuses on the intersections of gender, race and class from a structural perspective, proposing ways to rethink oppression and the responsibility for change without individualizing the issue.

Working with feminist, anti-racist and decolonial aesthetics, participants engage in a collective process through:

– exercises and games
– body-based and image work
– theatrical improvisation
– Forum Theatre techniques

The workshop emphasizes horizontal dialogue and collective creation. Each participant contributes from their own social position, collaborating with others to explore and develop based on real situations of oppression.

PRACTICAL OUTCOME

The process culminates in a public Forum Theatre presentation, where the audience is invited to actively engage, propose alternatives and intervene in the situations presented on stage.
