Living from the body, sensuously and authentically, is challenging in an everyday life that both requires mental control and is filled with unrealistic ideals.Female Body Empowerment is a 5-session course offering the opportunities to create transformation for those of you who want to strengthen your body contact and self-acceptance. By inviting more power and joy into the body we free ourselves from the negative impact of generic beauty standards and negative self images.
In a safer set up we practice opening up, letting go of our thoughts and coming into presence.
To ensure the depth and confidentiality of the process, the circle of participants of Female Body Empowerment will be the same throughout all 5 sessions.
The course provides insights into what we can do ourselves, what we can achieve together, and how we can guide a partner to support us. The exercises include movement, meditation, breath, touch and sharing.
The Female Body Empowerment course teaches tools on how to:
- re-establish / strengthen your body contact
- listen to your body's intuition and include your body in your daily life
- consciously switch between 'body-mindsets' such as work and pleasure
- release beliefs that inhibit your personal growth and joy
- cultivate an internally-directed rather than externally-directed body relationship
- replace comparisons with sisterhood
1st Meeting: Enter & Express
- We arrive and practice bringing the body into the space
- We listen for tension / find relaxation
- We explore 'tuning in' and use breath to arrive in presence
- We express ourselves in movement without words
- We learn tools to stay in the body in contact with others
- We set an anchor to come back to ourselves
2nd Meeting: Center and Conquer
- We invite our bodies to speak to us
- We listen when the body tells us what it wants to be freed of
- We explore letting go of the burdens our body has carried
- We allow our body tell us what it longs for
- We express our body's here-and-now needs
3rd Meeting: Shift & Shine
- We notice the difference between the different ‘gears’ - bodymindsets - we can be in / act from
- We learn small rituals that support shifts between bodymindsets
- We tap into and share our body wisdom
- We value our body and show ourselves
- We highlight the strength and beauty in each other
4th Meeting: Explore & Engage
- We explore ways we can become present in our body
- We try to identify what blocks presence in our body
- We explore how to free our body from having to live up to external expectations
- We live out the shadows of the body
- We help each other to deepen the presence and sensitivity of our body
5th Meeting: Celebrate & Continue
- We evaluate what our body has taught us
- We dedicate ourselves to living in pact with our body
- We choose our personal practice
- We thank our body and share our body light
- We celebrate, pamper and celebrate our bodies
WHO IS THIS FOR?
Anyone who has felt limited, embarrassed or wrong regarding the stereotypical ideals of women's appearance and expression.
The course is suitable for you whether you:
- crave to experience more life within your body
- long to overcome body issues around weight, age or general looks / expression
- struggle to get out of your head and act from sensations in your body
- are recovering from a stress burnout
This course welcomes cis-women as well as non-binaries and trans people who have been impacted by these ideals and standards and long for a better relationship with their body.

NOTE: While this space can be therapeutic and transformational, it is not therapy and therefore if you suffer from severe body dysmorphia, eating disorders etc., this might not be the right space for you and we encourage you to seek support elsewhere.
CAN I JOIN AS A BEGINNER?
You absolutely can - no prior knowledge required
DO I NEED A PARTNER?
No, as we work individually and as a group. The same members will be present throughout the course from start to end.
DRESSCODE
Wear something comfortable that you can move around freely in. Layers are a good idea in order to adjust your temperature to stillness / moving.

The first 3 sessions will be fully clothed. The last sessions might partly involve nudity, as you for specific exercises will be invited to dress or undress to the extent you feel like. Touch and interactions throughout will be nonsexual and for the purpose of empowering and healing.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Female Body Empowerment is facilitated by Sara Skaarup, sexologist, couples therapist and author, who has worked with body and self-development for 25 years through tantric training, women's group courses and hundreds of client sessions with women struggling to enjoy their bodies. Furthermore Sara Skaarup has contributed as a model in the latest edition of "Kvinde kend din krop" (Woman know your body) and the photo book "Ærlige kvindekroppe (Women's honest bodies)."
