Born out of the mid-’80s LA underground, Faster Pussycat carved their own lane between glam and punk with sleaze-soaked attitude and streetwise swagger. Fronted by Taime Downe, the band exploded onto the scene with their 1987 debut, spawning cult anthems like “Babylon”, “Bathroom Wall” and “Cathouse”, and cementing their place in the era via appearances in The Decline of Western Civilization II.
Touring alongside the likes of Mötley Crüe, Guns N’ Roses and Alice Cooper, they hit wider success with Wake Me When It’s Over and the charting ballad “House of Pain”. Never ones to follow trends, the band evolved into darker territory on later releases, maintaining a raw, outsider edge.
Reformed in the 2000s with a heavier, grittier aesthetic, Faster Pussycat remain a relentless live force—still bringing their signature mix of sleaze, grit and attitude to stages worldwide.
