About this Event
Develop your fashion design skills, from sketching to fabric selection.
Throughout this course, you'll explore fundamental concepts such as drawing, research, 3D modelling, textiles, and print design. You'll be guided through the entire process of designing and developing a collection, leaving with a solid foundation and confidence to pursue further studies in fashion.
Over four Fridays, you’ll learn key concepts and enhance your own fashion design abilities, preparing for a future in the industry.
You’ll also study the history of fashion and understand how cultural movements worldwide influence fashion trends. This knowledge will help you contextualise fashion historically and find inspiration for your own designs.
Mastering fashion drawing is essential for turning ideas into reality, whether by hand or digitally.
You’ll learn to sketch fashion figures and develop technical skills, from line drawing to capturing gestures and poses.
Improving your artistic abilities will enable you to produce sketches that illustrate the fit and movement of your designs.
Colour and fabric choices significantly influence a design’s overall feel and its appropriateness for different seasons. You will study the fundamentals of colour theory and explore how various colour schemes relate to each other.
