Trees Atlanta’s annual Georgia Arbor Day Art Contest is here! This year, we are partnering with Scraplanta Creative Reuse to give artists the materials they need to create their masterpieces! Join us for the Trees Atlanta Open Studio Session at the Kendeda TreeHouse, where artists can drop in and work with Scraplanta’s crafting experts while using some of Scraplanta’s huge art supplies collection. If artists finish their submissions by the end of the studio time, they can submit their artwork right then to the Georgia Arbor Day Art Contest.The Georgia Arbor Day Art Contest is open to students in grades K-12. This year’s theme is Oh, the Places You’ll Grow! Participants can submit one piece of artwork in the visual, writing, or film category. The top 3 winners in each category will win prizes! Scraplanta Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit whose mission is to promote environmental awareness, education, and artistic expression to the greater Atlanta community through the collection and reuse of materials for arts and crafts. When we remove barriers for artists, the community can use art as a tool for healing, liberation, financial freedom, and joy.
