EyeWarn: Fatigue and Biometrics at Work
The University of Essex is leading a groundbreaking £1.2m research project to uncover if mental fatigue and lapses in concentration are reflected through your eyes.
Join us to explore how the EyeWarn project utilises explainable artificial intelligence to assess and predict fatigue levels, offering new insights into how cognitive strain affects behaviour. Researchers are collaborating with the Solvemed Group to develop a revolutionary mobile app capable of determining a person’s level of fatigue by scanning their eyes and analysing movements such as gaze patterns and pupil dilation.
Funded as part of the BBSRC's Prosperity Partnerships programme, EyeWarn aims to bring innovative research into real-world settings.
"This project represents a significant advancement in the UK's scientific efforts in Human-Centred Artificial Intelligence (HCAI)... EyeWarn places a strong emphasis on enhancing our understanding and monitoring of human factors such as fatigue and its effects on the body through the eye." - Dr. Javier Andreu-Perez, Project Lead
