What is this programme?
Expressive Arts for Health is a free 10-week creative wellbeing programme for adults in Edmonton. Using gentle drawing, watercolour, and visual journaling, we'll create a supportive space to relax, express feelings, and build confidence together.
Who is this for?
This programme is designed for adults experiencing: Isolation or loneliness Anxiety or low mood A need for positive weekly routine Curiosity about trying something creative No art experience needed. All materials provided. Completely free.
What will we do?
Each Thursday morning session includes:
- Short demonstrations of simple techniques
- Time to explore materials and create
- Visual journaling prompts (like "home," "memory," "belonging")
- Space for reflection and conversation
- Light refreshments (tea, coffee, biscuits)
This is a gentle, exploratory programme - not a technical art class.
There's no pressure to be "good" at art. The focus is on wellbeing, connection, and self-expression.

About the facilitator
Chris Seddon is a local watercolor artist who uses creative practice to support his own wellbeing. With experience facilitating workshops for adults, Chris creates welcoming, non-judgmental spaces where everyone can explore creativity at their own pace.
What happens at the end?
We'll celebrate together with a small exhibition of our work (optional - only if you want to share). Friends and family are welcome to attend. You'll also be signposted to ongoing creative groups in the area if you'd like to continue.

Places are limited to 12 participants per session to ensure everyone gets individual support.
