Mat Pogo

Mat Pogo is a singer, improviser, music producer, DJ, graphic designer and cartoonist.
Active in the European underground scene since the early 1990s, he co-founded the multimedia collective Burp Enterprise, the Burp Publications label, the avant-garde pop group Jealousy Party and the DJ collective Sistemi Audiofobici Burp.
Based in Berlin since 2006 he’s part of the improvised music, noise and avant rock scene, collaborating with artists in the fields of music, performance and dance. He has performed at international festivals as a solo artist and in ensembles. His works have been published by various international labels.
He has developed his own vocal language using his experience as a rock singer, improviser and radio artist in which music, sounds, anecdotal and narrative elements are constantly merged in a very expressive way and often with a delicate sense of humour, hopefully.
His solo set for acoustic, amplified, recorded and processed voice brings together his latest personal developments in techniques, research and considerations on the subject of inner speech, the sound of thought, the shape of words and improvising alone.
