ABOUT THE EVENT

Join us for the 2026 Visitor Studies Group conference: Experimenting with our Practice.

Connect, share and reflect with colleagues across the sector on how we are experimenting with our practice. Evaluation and research don’t always follow the path we originally envisioned. Finding the answers to our evaluation questions often involves failure and learning.

Speakers working in a wide range of learning, marketing, research consultancy and academic teams will showcase examples of how we experiment with our practice ranging from experimenting with methodologies, reporting and engagement to new methods of internal advocacy and data analysis. Sharing their successes and their lessons learnt.

We will have a variety of talks, workshops and panels from leading organisations and individuals across the sector exploring the following topics:

  • case studies and examples of how organisations have been flexible and responsive in changing methodology in collecting audience feedback
  • the introduction of citizen juries across the sector and what we can learn from their valuable contributions
  • using unexpected expertise from across our organisations to create rounded audience understanding

The full programme will be announced mid-March, but don't miss your chance to secure an early bird ticket!

A networking lunch is also included, as well as the opportunity explore ThinkTank for free.
