Join us for Ever So Slightly Redux performed by internationally acclaimed Montreal dance company RUBBERBAND on January 30 & 31 at 7:30 pm in the Mainstage Theatre. Founded in 2002 by Guggenheim fellow Victor Quijada, RUBBERBAND is known for its signature RUBBERBAND Method—a singular fusion of breaking, ballet, and contemporary dance combined with theatricality and athletic virtuosity. The company has toured extensively across Canada, the United States, Europe, and Japan.
This electrifying work explores the behavioral mechanisms and reflexes we develop against the ceaseless flow of irritants in our daily lives. Most of us long for calm and resilience, but how do we get to a zone where noise and aggressiveness no longer have a place? Simultaneously delivering delicacy, brutality, finesse, and high-voltage action, the choreography conveys all the energy contained in urgency, revolt, chaos, and flight.
