Ethiopia is one of the world’s most ancient civilisations, rich in history, culture, and a deep sense of identity. Unlike much of the African continent, it has remained independent throughout its history — a resilience that is strongly reflected in its food culture.
To experience Ethiopian cuisine is to step into a world where flavour, nourishment, and community are inseparable. Rooted in tradition and shaped by geography and season, this cuisine is known for its bold spices, slow-cooked elements, and plant-forward abundance, offering food that is both deeply satisfying and naturally nourishing.
More than just what is eaten, Ethiopian food is about how it is eaten. Meals are shared, hands reach together, and food becomes a bridge between people. The communal style of dining invites connection, conversation, and a return to eating as a collective experience rather than an individual one.
This cooking class offers an immersive introduction to Ethiopian culinary culture — exploring flavours, techniques, and stories through a hands-on, shared experience. We cook together, taste together, and finish by gathering around the table in the traditional spirit of Ethiopian hospitality.
In a world that often rushes and separates, this is an invitation to slow down, share, and reconnect — through food, culture, and community.
