About this Event

Ethics, Boundaries and Self Care

CEU's approved by the Missouri Social Work Board

Come join us for a day of learning and growth at the Child And Family Empowerment Center. This event will focus on the importance of ethics in our work, setting healthy boundaries with clients, and practicing self care to prevent burnout. Whether you're a social worker, counselor, therapist, peer support provider or anyone in the helping profession, this event is for you. Let's come together to support one another and learn how to better care for ourselves while serving others. See you there!


Summary Ethics, Boundaries and Self Care

This training session is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the principles of ethics and the importance of maintaining professional boundaries in the workplace. It will cover key ethical concepts, including confidentiality, integrity, and accountability, as well as the impact of personal values on decision-making. We will discuss the connection between self-care and making ethical decisions.

Participants will learn how to identify and navigate potential ethical dilemmas, understand the consequences of boundary violations, and develop strategies to maintain clear, respectful boundaries with colleagues and clients. Through case studies, discussions, and interactive exercises, attendees will gain practical tools to apply ethical standards and maintain professional relationships that are both effective and respectful.

The training will emphasize the role of ethics and boundaries in fostering a positive work environment, enhancing trust, and ensuring the well-being of all individuals involved. By the end of the session, participants will be equipped to recognize and address ethical challenges, uphold professional standards, and contribute to a culture of integrity and respect in their workplace.

1. Understand Ethical Principles: Grasp key ethical concepts like confidentiality, integrity, and accountability.

2. Recognize and Navigate Ethical Dilemmas: Learn to identify and effectively address ethical challenges in the workplace.

3. Understand the Need to Maintain Professional Boundaries: Develop strategies to establish and preserve clear, appropriate boundaries in professional relationships.

4. Demonstrate an understanding of the connection between lack of self care and ethics violations.
