In this full-day workshop, Aleks Byrd will give you a taste of Estonian knitting by helping you make a wristlet showcasing four traditional techniques:- Knit fringe
- Knit braids
- Bobbles
- Roosimine
This workshop is an introduction to Estonian knitting exploring knit fringe, knit braids, bobbles, and roosimine inlay knitting. We will travel across Estonia learning these different techniques that are much easier than they look.
This class goes for 6 hours. It will be taught in two three-hour sessions, with a 1-hour break in between. Please bring your own lunch.
A great way to get to grips with many of the techniques covered in Aleks Byrd’s book Traditions Revisited: Modern Estonian Knits.
