About this Event

Join us on Wednesday 27 May at 7pm in the Screening Room at Soho House Dean Street for an intimate in-conversation with acclaimed stage and screen actor Joseph Fiennes, hosted by Esquire UK's Site Director Nick Pope. The evening will be followed by an exclusive screening of the first episode of Joseph’s latest project, Dear England.

Joseph Fiennes has built an acclaimed career across theatre, television, and film. Most recently, he starred in the critically acclaimed play Dear England by James Graham, directed by Rupert Goold, portraying England football manager Gareth Southgate. His performance earned him an Olivier Award nomination for Best Actor in a Play. The production premiered at the National Theatre before transferring to the West End, and Joseph reprises the role in the forthcoming BBC adaptation.

On screen, Joseph is widely recognised for his role as Commander Fred Waterford in The Handmaid’s Tale, earning him an Emmy nomination and two SAG Award nominations. His recent work includes the BAFTA-nominated BBC drama Prisoner 951, telling the story of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, and the global Amazon series Young Sherlock, where he plays Silas Holmes.

His film credits include Shakespeare in Love, Elizabeth, Enemy at the Gates, The Merchant of Venice, and The Mother, alongside collaborations with leading directors and actors. He has also appeared in American Horror Story: Asylum and worked with Ryan Murphy on Pretty Handsome.

On stage, Joseph has delivered standout performances in productions such as Cyrano de Bergerac and Ross, earning widespread critical acclaim.
