About this Event
Welcome to the Epworth Client Conference 2026!
In 1976, Epworth's parent, the Central Finance Board of the Methodist Church, brought the first ethical resolution to a UK company AGM, challenging corporate involvement in apartheid South Africa. It was a moment that helped reshape how investors understood responsibility, ownership, and the moral reach of capital.
On 11 June, we will mark the 50th anniversary of that intervention with a client conference reflecting on what ethical investment has achieved over the past five decades, where it has fallen short, and why disciplined, responsible ownership remains essential today.
The programme will combine historical reflection with contemporary investment insight, examining the ethical, geopolitical, and market challenges now facing long-term investors. We are delighted to confirm Catherine Howarth OBE, Chief Executive of ShareAction, as a keynote speaker, with further guest speakers to be announced shortly.
The conference will be a balance of education, inspiration and a chance to network with your peers.
