A relaxed space for young people passionate about justice to learn how we can create change through art, connection and campaigning.
About this Event

Join Young Friends of the Earth’s for our first ever Exhibition and Youth Gathering in Brixton.

This gathering is a space for young people passionate about environmental and social justice to come together, connect, and explore how we can challenge the systems that put profit and power above people and the planet. This includes our , which exposes and challenges corporations that exploit communities and the environment, and calls for a new UK law requiring companies to prevent harm to people and planet in their supply chains.

Through art, creativity, and campaigning, we’ll celebrate the work of the EJC and learn how to take action in solidarity with communities on the frontlines of environmental injustice in the Global South.

Young Friends of the Earth believes in the need for system change to tackle the social and environmental inequalities present in society. Our event will be a safe space to explore how environmental issues, racism, and capitalism are intertwined — and how we can take collective action for justice.

The day will be relaxed, youth-led, and rooted in inclusion. There will be space to recharge, connect, and get inspired while building community and shaping campaigns for international solidarity.

We’ll provide drinks and snacks on the day so please state if you have any dietary requirements when you sign up for the event.

Programme highlights:

  • Panel on Environmental Justice with Asad Rehman (CEO of Friends of the Earth) and EJC members
  • Exhibitions of youth-created zines and films
  • Workshops on campaigning for international solidarity, including how to put a stop to big businesses that exploit communities in the global south with our Planet over Profit campaign and how to take concrete action in solidairty with people in Palestine.
  • Fully youth-led creative workshops on environmental justice, craftivism, zine-making, poetry, and chants

Who is this event for?

This gathering is for young people aged 18–30*, based in London or able to easily travel there, who are passionate about environmental, climate, social justice, or other human rights issues, and who want to take action together. You might already be organising with a group or movement, or you might be interested in campaigning with Friends of the Earth, either way, you are welcome.

We actively want to bring together young people from different networks and groups whether environmental, climate or social justice, or human rights focused — to strengthen our connections, build solidarity, and take stronger collective action. This isn’t just for “environmentalists,” but for anyone who wants to fight for justice and join across movements.

Young Friends of the Earth is a network made up primarily of racialised (People of Colour), working class or low-income, and/or disabled and neurodivergent youth activists. We welcome those who do not share these identities but who respect the safe and inclusive space our network creates.

The event is for people aged 30 and under. Please respect this boundary so that the space remains youth-led.

*Students on Friends of the Earth’s My World My Home and People, Planet, Place community campaigning courses, that are aged 16–17, from across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, are also welcome to attend, provided they come with their group and a Campaign Coach.
