Allana & Alicia
After a 12 month break, they are back at the Lomond!
Twin sisters Alanna & Alicia, finalists in the Australian Folk Music Awards 2024, have toured the Australian festival circuit from Fairbridge to Port Fairy, captivating audiences with their original folky/ jazz/ roots songs, sweet harmonies, and onstage warmth, wit and fun. Both are gifted songwriters who have won awards at national level, and their lyrics, equal parts heart and humour, sparkle with an original, intimate voice. As identical twins, they have a rich, intuitive vocal blend, creating the kind of magical close harmonies that are unique to siblings. Think The Waifs, The Andrews Sisters.
They will sing songs and tell stories from their new release 'Heart Song Listen,' 2024, produced with the support of a Creative Victoria Music Works grant. It was recorded at Rolling Stock Recording Rooms, Collingwood with brilliant sound engineer, Myles Mumford.
They will also sing from their stunning back catalogue, including the beautiful 'Songs I'm Singing with Me,' 2017 a tribute to Australian troubadour, John Beavis, 'Twinlines' 2013, ‘Two in a Book’ 2010 and their debut album,‘Funny She’s So Much Like Me.'
Accompaning Allana & Alicia will be Damein Neil.
‘In concert they are entertaining and lively characters with an unpredictable, unscripted natural humour inspired by close observations and wry story telling. They are brimming with talent, a free spirit and endearing charm’.
Jamie McKew, Festival Director, Port Fairy Folk Festival (1977 - 2015)
'Deliciously idiosyncratic and saucy songs...wry, frank observations of life and love…quality quirky lyrics delivered with verve and the kind of close harmonies you'd expect from sisters.'
