About this Event

Enchanted Forest Adventures Series
Nature Super Heroes – STEWARDSHIP

Program Description

Enchanted Forest Adventures: Nature Super Heroes is a service unit–based, badge-focused outdoor learning experience designed for Girl Scouts of all ages—especially 4th grade and older Girl Scouts interested in practicing and/or completing a meaningful service project within an underserved greenspace that would greatly benefit from long-term care and stewardship.

This kickoff introduces participants to the Nature Super Heroes framework while emphasizing leadership, accountability, shared responsibility, stewardship, storytelling, and seasonal outdoor learning. The experience intentionally aligns with:

  • DeKalb County RPCA’s Mission & Vision
  • NRPA Pillars of Equity & Environmental Resilience
  • Girl Scout Law, Leadership Principles & Service Unit model

Participants will begin imagining what it means to not simply visit a park—but to actively care for, advocate for, and build lasting endearment toward a trail system through hands-on stewardship and community connection.

What We’ll Do
  • Introduce the Nature Super Heroes: Stewardship theme and its connection to badge work and Service Unit goals
  • Participate in a collaborative “thought toss” storytelling activity where participants contribute words, sentences, or short passages to create a shared narrative inspired by the park, season, and observed habitat
  • Engage in hands-on stewardship, including litter removal and introduced species management, with the goal of helping prepare trails for exploration as part of the Birds Georgia: Georgia Birding Trail Initiative
  • Discuss connections between leadership, civic responsibility, environmental learning, stewardship accountability, and long-term community care
  • Explore the possibility of collectively adopting and caring for a trail throughout 2026 and beyond

This establishes expectations, shared leadership opportunities, and the structure for the recurring every-other-month series throughout 2026.
