EMOTION EXPLORERS: Unlocking Confidence - EFT with Falguni Mather
In this class, we will use EFT or ‘tapping’ to have some fun as we learn how we can help ourselves feel better. We will tap in a group and you will learn some new ways to understand your feelings and what you can do to help yourself. You don’t even have to talk about what the problem is as we tap. You will receive a colourful emotion wheel that you can use every day to say what you feel - to others and to yourself.
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is a simple and effective way to understand your emotions and feel better about things that are bothering you. It is also known as ‘tapping’, because we tap with our fingers on acupressure points on the hand, head, and torso while focusing on the troublesome issue. You can help yourself feel more relaxed and confident as you tap to reduce bad feelings.
With a background in psychology and a Masters in Counselling, Falguni Mather is an Accredited EFT Practitioner, Trainer and Mentor. She practices as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist in
Hong Kong and has many years experience. Through her studies and explorations, she has gained a true understanding of the interconnectedness of emotions, the mind and the physical body. She recognised that mental narratives are only a part of what limits us, and that it is crucial to connect with our bodies to facilitate self-awareness and healing. This insight has shaped her approach as an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist. More here: https://falgunimather.com/

This class aims to support girls in exploring the significance of body image in their lives. It encourages participants to delve into their personal body image stories and gain a deeper understanding of the factors that influence their perceptions, such as media portrayals, societal expectations, and peer pressure. Through engaging in a series of interactive activities throughout the workshop, participants are prompted to reflect on their own relationships with their bodies, and consider practical steps they can take to improve these relationships going forward.

Having experienced an eating disorder in her early teens, she is dedicated to sparking open and meaningful conversations about mental illness amongst Hong Kong youth. Steph is the founder of Body Banter, a registered Section 88 charity in Hong Kong on a mission to empower young people to spark conversations about body image with curiosity and courage. As a research fellow with local mental health charity Mind HK and a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Hong Kong, she conducts research on how personal stories can help transform stigmatising beliefs and attitudes toward mental illness in Hong Kong, and incorporates these insights into evidence-based mental health initiatives.
