About this Event
Karen Hao is a global leading voice on artificial intelligence. The author of Empire of AI, a New York Times bestseller and winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award for Nonfiction, she co-hosts the BBC podcast The Interface and was named to TIME magazine's 100 Most Influential People in AI. In this public lecture, she will discuss how OpenAI's transformation from idealistic nonprofit to global empire is reshaping democracy, labour, and the planet — and why the future isn't written yet.
The lecture is organised by the AITSec (AI Trust and Security Cluster), part of the Centre for Digital Trust and Society, University of Manchester.
