About this Event
6-WEEK workshop for African and Caribbean communities in Southwark.
Southwark Wellbeing Hub are delighted to announce a new workshop for African/Caribbean residents, in collaboration Black Thrive. We are proud to introduce the Emotional Emancipation Circle (EEC) facilitated by the Association of Black Psychologists (UK ABPsi).
** Please Note This is a reccuring workshop which is 6 WEEKS in total. Each week follows on from the last so please be commited to them all. EVERY Wednesday 11-1pm. **
The Emotional Emancipation Circle aims to address the trauma caused by anti-Black racism through evidence-informed and culturally grounded support groups.
In these circles, we come together to share our stories, deepen our understanding of historical forces on our sense of self-worth and relationships, and learn essential emotional wellness skills.
Led by experts from the ABPsi, this workshop is a dynamic manifestation of African
principles, values, and traditions centered on promoting optimal functioning
and resolving personal and social problems.
