About this Event
This evocative, tense coming-of-age story, written in 1958 and set in France soon after the First World War, follows five English children, who are stranded in a French hotel when their mother is taken ill. Narrated by 13-year-old Cecil, a summer of freedom rapidly sours into a shocking discovery of adult desire and deceit.
