Emily is the author of Morning Comes Roaring Down the Mountain (2025) and Art Triumphant* (2017). Her debut film Love Spell (2020) won 11 awards and premiered at 16 festivals worldwide, and her work has been performed and published across the country. With a background in filmmaking, acting, and screenwriting, including study with the Sundance Institute, Emily brings cinematic depth and lyrical precision to the page.
Her newest collection, Morning Comes Roaring Down the Mountain, is a fierce and intimate exploration of grief, love, loss, and resilience. Shaped by the death of her father and a whirlwind romance that unravels under the weight of mental illness and trauma, these poems carry readers from Western wilderness to blood-soaked Southern soil.
