About this Event
Artist & Scholar led Nature Workshops
These workshops are organised by photographic artist Alan McFetridge, Daisy Green’s artist-in-residence at Holland Park. Each month, Alan invites a guest artist or scholar to lead a workshop that brings their practice into dialogue with the park, its rhythms, and its living landscape.
This month’s guest is HU Yue (胡悦)
This workshop explores walking as an artistic and research method through both discussion and practice. Divided into two parts, the first section introduces a selection of my projects that use walking as a method of exploration, ranging from pilgrimage experiences in Tibet to the field practices developed during my PhD research. The session will focus on how walking can function as a tool for observation, documentation, sensory attention, and spatial understanding within contemporary art practice.
The second part is a collective walking exercise in Holland Park. Participants are invited to bring a small object that can be carried throughout the walk. The object may serve as a point of attention, interaction, or reflection during the exercise. Please ensure that the object is safe to carry and does not contain any sharp or harmful elements.
Daisy Green has generously provided the space, and refreshments are included in the ticket. Proceeds from ticket sales go directly to the artist.

Bio:
HU Yue (胡悦) is a visual art practitioner, curator, educator, editor, and translator, currently finishing practice-based doctoral research at the University of Plymouth (UK). Her interdisciplinary research situates the dynamic relationship between humans’ interventions and natural landscapes in the context of environmental and climate change. Her artistic investigations often engage with artificial landscapes, ecological imaginaries, and the sensory experience of a place. Through curating and critical writings, she explores the broader contemporary visual art world and reimagines the landscape as a site of negotiation, memory, and transformation.
Yue holds an MA in Documentary Photography from the University of Westminster (UK). She has worked as a curator and collection researcher at art museums in China while continuing developing independent projects. Her work has been presented in the UK, China, Finland, Portugal, France, etc.

About Workshop Programme:
Photographic artist Alan McFetridge, and founder of the Centre for Ecological Philosophy, continues to explore the roots of connectivity through ritual, movement, and ecological care. In 2026, as part of his residency with Daisy Green at Holland Park Café, he is shaping an evolving program by inviting artists he has encountered through chance, synchronicity, natural rhythm, and psychic channels.
