EMBODIED MOVEMENT
A 6 hour MOVEMENT JOURNEY
Exploring the realms of HUMAN CONNECTION and BODY through, touch, authentic relating, basic tantra and contact improv practises, energy awareness and my own ongoing exploration with DANCE and MOVEMENT.
HERE IT IS— y’all been asking, so we have delivered! This is for everyone and anyone who enjoys or wants to learn and deepen connection, dance, movement, embodiment and exploration, and wants to explore movement and dance through the The Embodied Space lens!
A journey of building trust with yourself, your own a body, opening you up for more joy and confidence in the world and in connection with other people not just through movement and dance and play, but in every day life.
Learning to be and move in my body has changed my life in every aspect. My signature workshop, that takes on a different form every time I offer it based on who is there and my own growth etc!

WHAT WE’LL EXPLORE
Connection to self through stillness, meditation, breath and one’s own touch
Your own yes and no and what that feels like in your body
Mutual consent - your yes and your no
Communication through words and through body language
Energy awareness through eye contact and partnered exercises
Partnered play and individual exploration
Weight bearing and sharing
How to enter and exit connection
Following the energy until one or both feel complete
All of these nuances feel fun, exciting, and deeply necessary.

WHY THIS MATTERS
Something happens in me when I dance with someone else. When another person is willing to play, to try new things, to push edges with me — within both our captaincies — it’s magic.
It builds trust in myself and in my body. It builds trust and connection with another, often without a single word spoken. This kind of movement has a language all its own.

THE SHARING CIRCLE
You’ll be invited to share your experiences with the group. There is no pressure to do this, ever. The reason behind this is that sharing our truth and in turn listening to the inner experiences of others, we can learn about ourselves, as language is given and helps to create neural pathways and make meaning of our experiences. It creates deeper connection to our own experience and deeper connections to those we share with. The sharing circle becomes the teacher.

BRING
Water-bottle
Journal/pen and paper to write on
Snacks for throughout the day/lunch
Yoga mat, pillow/bolster and a blanket (tho it's summer so...you may not need this)
Yourself and an open heart

WEAR
We’ll be barefoot so no shoes required.
Long sleeved clothing you feel comfortable to move in —
As we will be rolling around on a hard floor clothes become the cushioning to help protect the body from burns, bruises, and scrapes and help movement flow more easily.
Fabric-on-fabric feels allows for smoother movement than skin-on-skin and keeps you warm between slower and faster movements.
It also helps the body be seen as a neutral canvas — reducing sexualisation and deepening focus on the movement itself.
A word on this — long sleeves and pants was a weird thing to me when I first showed up at contact improv, but I wish someone explained it to me. Wearing long sleeves in Bali considerably improved my experience. Even and especially when I was all hot and sweaty!!
If you have knee pads, feel free to dig them out and wear them; these are def not compulsory!

ALLERGY
I am extremely sensitive boarder line allergic to many socially ‘normal’ fragrances/smells/scents. As the space holder I gotta ask you…so I can do my job, that you consider wearing your natural body odour— it really is the BEST! It’s your truest, purest expression of self. (Which is a whole other point of discussion for sure)
Please refrain from wearing perfume, deodorant or sunscreen or even moisture that might have strong scent! Thanks!

SAFETY
A word on ‘safe spaces’ — I don’t personally believe that I can tell you what a safe space looks or feels like for you. It IS my intention, however, to invite you to explore that with us in this space , but, safety I believe, and have found in my own journey that, often lives inside of you.
If one does not first feel safe within them themselves, it’s hard to create spaces that feel safe outside. Having said that, I do desire to work with you and create a space that feels safe for all to express and discover a place where authenticity, vulnerability and truth hold us all!
Ongoing consent and your ability to chose your own yes and no and honour your boundaries are key elements in this space!
It’s important to acknowledge that the body holds memories in a way your conscious mind does not. Trauma can affect how we experience different invitations. If you have experienced trauma around being close to others, giving or receiving touch, or even being seen, this can be a very healing place, it can also bring up things that feel big and thats okay too; be aware of how this might come up, check in with yourself around your capacity to hold space ask for what you need and communicate should this arise. If you have anything you’d like to let Fiona know about before the workshop, feel free to get in touch.
Playing on the edges allows for an exhilaration of life that our comfort zone don’t always allow for, but the goal is to know our limits and not fall off and cause more pain. We will talk explicitly about this during the workshop.

LANGUAGE
The language I use to teach and communicate the concepts is language that works for me. It is body based and often asks you to get in touch with your interoception (what it feels like to exist in side your own body, the sensations you feel etc) — if this is a challenge for you, I welcome you asking for clarification/other ways of interacting with the invitations. I want this to be accessible as possible to all !
REFUNDS
Please be sure you can make it when you buy your ticket! Refunds are available up to a week before the event, no questions asked. After tat you can do a ticket swap or credit this ticker for another event (single event no matter tickets price of another event)

FAQ/FEARS
Wanna come but feel apprehensive, that’s okay. Sometimes it helps to chat it trough before you come along. If you have questions you feel would help you to talk through before you come along, holler, I am here.

MOVEMENT LAB
EMBODIED MOVEMENT will be the perfect foundation for anyone wanting to come along to MOVEMENT LAB sessions - an ongoing space of exploration beginning in 2026 to explore the concepts and skills that create the foundation for contact improv and other styles of dance that involve connection — while keeping it playful and alive.
Lab, as in laboratory — a place to experiment for the sake of experience, with no expected skill set or outcome. With the intention to help us connect more deeply with our own bodies and support how we connect and communicate with others.
WHAT I’M THINKING:
Some instruction or focus on a theme for the day and then space to explore, connect and experiment with the material with different bodies to get a feel for it! Not a formal workshop, but an exploration space.
WHAT WE’LL EXPLORE
• Movement, play, and games as relational themes
• Partnered play and individual exploration
• Butt shaking, twerking, grinding, and sexy-ass dancing
• Weight bearing and sharing
• Mutual consent
• How to enter and exit connection
• Following the energy until one or both feel complete
If this calls to you, please send Fiona a message to get updates about times, dates, all the thiiiings!
In the mean time, see you on the floor at EMBODIED MOVEMENT, lovers
Fiona
