About this Event
In our digital age, it's common to lose connection with the body—yet embodied presence is fundamental to authentic, compelling communication.
This workshop grounds you in the Viewpoints Technique and somatic movement practices, providing you with tools to enhance your physical awareness, presence, and connection with audiences.
We start with the fundamental tool: the body. We put the body in motion, in relation to other bodies and itself.
The Viewpoints Technique, developed by Anne Bogart and Tina Landau, allows us to name the elements of space and time that constitute performance, presentation, or interaction. By shifting focus, we perceive and understand what is already present in our communication. This experiential process provides tools to consciously use these elements when sharing scientific knowledge.
You will develop a movement vocabulary for improvisation, spatial relationship, and physical listening—skills directly applicable to public speaking, audience engagement, and collaborative communication. The practice fosters non-judgmental creative exploration, promoting greater physical readiness and presence.
Open to all levels, this workshop gives you simple body-based tools and fresh ways to bring science to life.
